Mariner Media

Yoshimi Lin is a senior at Sehome High School as well as the Media/Arts editor of The Rising Tide. This will be Lin’s first year working on the publication but has had Journalism experience through Yearbook and Journalism classes. Additionally, she is the editor-in-chief for the school's yearbook, The Windjammer. Lin spends lots of time taking pictures of all events and life at Sehome including assemblies, games, performances, etc. and finds it especially exciting when she gets to cover sporting events when it’s raining or even snowing.

Besides taking photos, Lin also enjoys skiing in the winter as well as skimboarding year-round. Of all the dinosaurs that have ever existed, Lin’s favorite dinosaur is a bird and more specifically a Hat Bird. Birds evolved from the group of dinosaurs called theropods. They looked much different back then but over time they evolved and began to lose the teeth and their beaks began to take form towards the shape they have today. (More info can be found off of National Geographic’s YouTube Video: Are Birds Modern-Day Dinosaurs?) Besides the Hat Bird, Lin’s favorite dinosaur is the Zigongosaurus because it sounds cool and is the last dinosaur sang in the Dinosaur Train’s “Dinosaurs A to Z” song. In the case of a zombie apocalypse, Lin would go to the Sogo Department Store located in Taipei where there is a Din Tai Fung. “If I’m going to die, I might as well die eating Xiao Long Bao’s and drinking bubble tea,” Lin said.
